I got out of the consulting world because I was tired of working on problems all day with other tech people that just point the finger at another tech person and never getting the problem resolved until I figure it out.. Well today is no different. One of our websites has been having problems all day and they are REALLY strange. Tech support for the server blames it on the application software and the application software blames it on the server.. And I am stuck in the middle saying.. I don’t care who has the problem.. What is the problem and how do we fix it.. Come to find out the problem is in the server and the server needs more tmp space or the server needs more disk space. Now why couldn’t the server guy just look at the server and tell us that their was a problem with the temp space? I had to tell him that there was a problem with the temp space and that he needed to fix it. So why do I need tech support if I have to do all the work?

I have been working on websites for 12 years now and I have had a few offers but have never sold a website. I’ve bought a bunch but never sold. So I am checking my kids website…. nintendowiiblog.com and I find that my kids have had an offer on their website. I was a little shocked that a kid blog site with very little traffic and about 3 posts could get someone to want to buy their website. They are waiting on a response to see what this guy is going to offer. I will not be surprised if it turns out to be 2 copies of Pokemon, 1 copy of Spiderman and maybe a few candy bars. Either way they were the first to get an offer in 2009 for a website in our family. Way to go kids. I must be doing something wrong.

Driving around this weekend I saw 1/2 a dozen boats. Some looked like they were going home to get serviced and others looked like they were heading to the lake. I love this time of year. Getting the gear out and getting the boat ready to go is always fun. Back in the day it was not so fun. Pulling the old Nautique out of the storage shed meant hours of cleaning up the boat, getting the battery ready or buying a new one and getting the carb ready for the lake. Now Central Texas Malibu handles all the boat details for me. They get it ready so I just have to hitch up and run to the lake. I could not live without Malibu Boats Texas now.

I’m Ed Harmon…so why not own Ed Harmon.com. I have checked on my domain name for years and I guess there is just nobody in the world that wanted it. There is a Ex-pro football player that has my name but for some reason he did not want it….so I finallyregistered it… Don’t expect to see some really fancy web stuff.. I just wanted a place to post some stuff about what I am doing, working on or wanting to work on.. I have other websites if you want fancy, or online shopping or just want to hang around and talk about watersports.

If you want Reef Sandals then checkout Boardstop.com or if you want to buy a wakeboard you can stop by that website and take a look.

If you want to watch a wakeboard video then you can check out Wakelounge.

If you want to buy a snowboarding DVD then check out Boardflix.com.

If you want to talk about wakeboarding and wakeskating then the websites for you are Wakeboarder.com and Wakeskating.com.

As you can see I am pretty busy with the sites that I run but did not really have a place that I can talk about all the stuff going on with all of them in a collective place. I will probably just use Ed Harmon.com to rant about all the crap going on in my day to day life which revolves around all the above websites.

Don’t email me spelling errors and stuff like that because Ed Harmon.com will not count off for spelling and grammar mistakes. If your a long lost friend send me an email. You can email me at: ed at edharmon.com
