I got out of the consulting world because I was tired of working on problems all day with other tech people that just point the finger at another tech person and never getting the problem resolved until I figure it out.. Well today is no different. One of our websites has been having problems all day and they are REALLY strange. Tech support for the server blames it on the application software and the application software blames it on the server.. And I am stuck in the middle saying.. I don’t care who has the problem.. What is the problem and how do we fix it.. Come to find out the problem is in the server and the server needs more tmp space or the server needs more disk space. Now why couldn’t the server guy just look at the server and tell us that their was a problem with the temp space? I had to tell him that there was a problem with the temp space and that he needed to fix it. So why do I need tech support if I have to do all the work?

I have been working on websites for 12 years now and I have had a few offers but have never sold a website. I’ve bought a bunch but never sold. So I am checking my kids website…. nintendowiiblog.com and I find that my kids have had an offer on their website. I was a little shocked that a kid blog site with very little traffic and about 3 posts could get someone to want to buy their website. They are waiting on a response to see what this guy is going to offer. I will not be surprised if it turns out to be 2 copies of Pokemon, 1 copy of Spiderman and maybe a few candy bars. Either way they were the first to get an offer in 2009 for a website in our family. Way to go kids. I must be doing something wrong.
